Village  Voice

In the Tennessee Project’s post-apocalyptic  (comic book) America, the fragile world is threatened by such villains  as socialite–evil espionage agent Alley Class and mentally disturbed  Canadian ice heiress, Freezia Sleet. And who better to rescue the dwindled  human community but Ashira, a superhero with a bikini and a fro who roars  like He-Man and refers to herself in the third person? This first episode  in a trilogy of all-female superhero plays seeks to engage the audience  in thinking about current gender/political/cultural/personal issues through  a popular generic form. Oh, and it’s really funny, too. (Porter)
